MFT Trainees and Interns

Glendale Community College Clinical Traineeship/Internships Available 

Clinical trainee/internship is a program that offers short-term individual and group counseling services to a diverse student population of 18+ year olds who are dealing with:

Depression
Anxiety
Loss/grief
Trauma
Relationships
Individuation
Acculturation
Identity
Anger management
Adjustment to college
Academic stress
Neurodivergence

Clinical supervision provided by a LCSW and an LMFT. No COAMFTE supervision available.

BBS approved clinical hours are offered for clinical work and related clinical activities. Opportunity to do thematic workshops, support groups and topical presentations is available.

Strength-based supervision supports personal as well as professional development with a focus on case conceptualization, skill-building and practical applications of academics and feedback.

We offer flexible hours in a collaborative, supportive environment. Master level interns from accredited institutions are encouraged to fill out an application. 

Must be available for group supervision Wednesdays, 9am-11am, 16 hours a week and able to make a ten month commitment of time and involvement beginning in the fall. No evening or weekend hours available.

APPLICATION PROCESS

Completed applications are accepted from February-June, on a rolling basis until positions are filled for the following academic year. We only onboard interns starting in the fall.  Please note we do not accept applications in person or via email.  An initial application consists of completing the GCC Clinical Training online application

The selection committee will screen applications and selected applicants will be scheduled for interviews from February-June. All applicants considered for interviews will be notified via email and sent a virtual meeting link.  The interview is required for applicants being considered for selection.
