The AS-T in Public Health provides students with a strong academic foundation in the field and preparation for upper division baccalaureate study. Students who have completed the AS-T in Public Health will have satisfied the lower division requirements for transfer into Public Health or a similar major for many campuses in the California State University system. Please consult a GCC counselor regarding specific course requirements for your transfer institution. Program Learning Outcomes: Upon Completion of this program, students will be able to Explain the role of public health in protecting and improving health across local, national, and global communities. Discuss the biological, environmental, behavioral, and social determinants of health. Find and utilize credible public health information sources. Analyze health equity strategies such as community organizing, advocacy, and policy change.
All courses used to satisfy the major for the Associate in Science degree must be completed with a grade of "C" or better.
