Associate in Arts for Transfer - Spanish

The AA-T in Spanish provides students with a strong academic foundation in the field and preparation for upper division baccalaureate study. Students who have completed the AA-T in Spanish will have satisfied the lower division requirements for transfer into Spanish or a similar major for many campuses in the California State University system. Please consult a GCC counselor regarding specific course requirements for your transfer institution. Program Learning Outcomes: Upon completion of this program, students will be able to Comprehend written and oral Spanish at the level of mastery (mastery is to be defined as advanced proficiency after four semesters of language study), ready to continue with upper division courses in Spanish. Communicate orally and in writing in Spanish at the level of mastery (mastery is to be defined as advanced proficiency after four semesters of language study), ready to continue with upper division courses in Spanish. Demonstrate a broad knowledge of the cultures of the Spanish speaking world to be utilized as a foundation for upper division courses in Spanish. Analyze the history and/or the literature of Spanish speaking countries to be utilized as a foundation for upper division courses in Spanish.

All courses used to satisfy the major for the Associate in Arts degree must be completed with a grade of "C" or better.
