Associate in Arts for Transfer - History

The AA-T in History provides students with a strong academic foundation in the field and preparation for upper division baccalaureate study. Students who have completed the AA-T in History will have satisfied the lower division requirements for transfer into History or a similar major for many campuses in the California State University system. Please consult a GCC counselor regarding specific course requirements for your transfer institution. Program Learning Outcomes: Upon completion of this program, students will Engage with the past in order to promote critical thinking, develop information competency, improve communication, and foster global awareness. Learn how to analyze sources using historical thinking skills to discover facts, weigh interpretations, and draw conclusions to understand how historical knowledge is created.

All courses used to satisfy the major for the Associate in Arts degree must be completed with a grade of "C" or better.
