Associate in Science for Transfer - Nutrition and Dietetics

The AS-T in Nutrition and Dietetics provides students with a strong academic foundation in the field and be prepared for upper division baccalaureate study. Students who have completed the AS-T in Nutrition and Dietetics will have satisfied the lower division requirements for transfer into Nutrition and Dietetics or a similar major for many campuses in the California State University system. Please consult a GCC counselor regarding specific course requirements for your transfer institution. Program Learning Outcomes: Upon Completion of this program, students will be able to evaluate nutrition-related scientific concepts and methods. Appraise and correlate food composition to nutrition and health. Examine the functions and impact of nutrients in physiological processes of disease and health.

All courses used to satisfy the major for the Associate in Science degree must be completed with a grade of "C" or better.

  2. 1 year of high school chemistry (with lab) with a grade of "C" or better, and satisfactory test scores on the Chemistry Placement Exams.
