Anita Protich’s unique and agile spinto voice has been heard in operatic, concert and recital appearances throughout the United States, Europe and Asia. A Metropolitan Opera Audition Regional Winner and National Finalist, the soprano has appeared in U.S. regional and international opera and concert performances. Opera performed include Verdi’s Ballo in maschera, La Traviata, Il Trovatore, Aida, Richard Strauss’ Der Rosenkavalier, and Wagner’s Die Walküre. Masterclass teachers and mentors in have included Sir Richard Bonynge, Evelyn Lear, Joan Dornemann, Gundula Janowitz, Jess Thomas, Sherrill Milnes, Nico Castel, and Dame Joan Sutherland. She has been featured at the Hollywood Bowl with the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra, Pacific Symphony, and as soloist in oratorio with the Claremont, Mountainside, Pacific, Saddleback, and Orange Chorales. Ms. Protich performed as part of the Pacific Standard Time Project, co-sponsored by Los Angeles Opera and the Getty Foundation. Residing in Los Angeles, Anita has been heard in film and television, and has sung in commercials for Teac, Honda and Mazda. In animation, her voice was used on Comedy Central’s show, “Kid Notorious” and as the character “Greta van Gruesome” for the Veggie Tale series “The Adventures of LarryBoy.” Locally, Anita is director of the well-respected weekly community concert series Music at Noon at Pasadena Presbyterian Church and maintains a private teaching studio for singers.
