Theodore “Ted” Levatter has been teaching at Glendale Community College since 1982. After over thirty years of full time teaching, he recently retired and is pleased to be returning Fall 2017 as an adjunct professor.
He was born in Los Angeles and raised in the Southern California area. He holds a BA in Theatre Arts from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and a Masters in Speech Language Pathology from California State University, Los Angeles. In addition to teaching Public Speaking, Oral Interpretation of Literature, and Voice and Diction courses at GCC, he is also a California licensed speech pathologist in private practice where he specializes in working with people who stutter.
Before he began his teaching career, Professor Levatter toured with a band in which he sang and played guitar and banjo. He has also done voice work for film and television. He lives in North Hollywood with his wife of thirty-seven years and has a daughter who attends the University of Michigan.
